NFL Free Agency: Top players left, offense

New, comments

Terry Lambert and I discuss.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

With the first "round/wave" of free agency over with, I asked Terry Lambert to help me come up with a short list of the best talent available is on both sides of the ball. This is what we came up with on offense.

Lambert's list:

1. Michael Crabtree, WR
2. Chris Myers, C
3. Stevan Ridley, RB
4. Joe Barksdale, RT
5. Stevie Johnson, WR

Analysis: Offensively, the Titans have added veterans Harry Douglas and Anthony Fasano. Not a lot to get excited about, but those two are solid role players nonetheless. The Titans still have to address the right tackle spot.  That's the number one need right now.  I'd personally like to see them add a running back and a vertical receiver, but they may be forced to wait until the draft to do so.

Lomas's list:

1. Stevie Johnson, WR
2. Joe Barksdale RT
3. Michael Crabtree, WR
4.Stefen Wisniewski, C
5.Chris Myers, C

Analysis: I am a big fan of Stevie Johnson, mainly for the work he has done against top-flight CBs with little to no help at the quarterback position. Barksdale is another player that I think would work well in Tennessee. The Titans division doesn't feature any premier defensive linemen outside of J.J. Watt and in Tennessee he would finally have help at RG. Crabtree can be an odd guy at times, but the talent is definitely there. With Vernon Davis, Anquan Boldin and the running game, he was never really a great fit in San Francisco, in Tennessee he could be a key on the outside. Wisniewski edges out Myers because of his age and scheme versatility, however either one of these players would be a welcome addition to the interior of this offensive line.
