Tennessee Titans re-sign Derrick Morgan

The Tennessee Titans have re-signed Derrick Morgan per Jim Wyatt.  I'll admit to being a bit surprised by this.  I really thought that Morgan would be gone if he hit the open market.  This is a good move for the Titans.

Morgan did really well last year transitioning from defensive end to outside linebacker.  He improved pretty much every week.  Odds are he will only get better as he gets more comfortable playing that EDGE position in the 3-4.

Morgan was the Titans first round pick out of Georgia Tech back in 2010.  His career got off to a bit of a slow start, but he has really come on in the last couple of years.  There were reports that as many as 6 teams were interested in him around the league.

Ruston Webster has done a nice job of rounding out this free agency class.  Don't forget, Parrish Cox is scheduled to visit the Titans today.  The defense is already a lot better than it was last year.  That difference is even greater if Cox is signed.
