According to multiple reports, Cornerback Perrish Cox will be visiting the Tennessee Titans tomorrow. He has visits with the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Browns before then, so the hope is that he makes it to town before striking a deal with someone else. Cox played for the San Francisco 49ers last year, and started 14 games. He has also played for the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.
It is no secret that the Titans need a lot of help at Cornerback. Cox should be one of multiple players at the position that the Titans should bring in. That being said, it is good to see that the team has targeted another good, young player that would start in the secondary. One could easily make the argument that he was the better corner between he and Chris Culliver last year for the 49ers. Tallying 5 interceptions last season, it is clear that Cox has a nose for the football, which is something that the Titans have lacked in a Cornerback since Alterraun Verner left.
Cox does come with some baggage--a few minor incidents in college, and was charged with, but found not guilty of Sexual Assault in 2010. Other teams have obviously signed him since then, and there haven't been any further incidents, so it appears that he may check out there.
If everything checks out in the visit, the Titans should look to lock him up. This would be a substantial upgrade at the Cornerback position.
