Jim Wyatt is reporting that the Titans are set to sign safety Da'Norris Searcy. As Wyatt points out, Searcy would be the replacement for Bernard Pollard. There had been talk about the Titans just using an internal candidate to replace Pollard, but I always thought it would be wise for them to add another guy.
Searcy was a 5th round pick of the Buffalo Bills back in 2011. In his 4 year career he has only missed 2 games. He has 4 career sacks and 5 career interceptions. The interception total is low, but he is an in the box safety. Those guys don't have as many chances for picks as guys that play center field.
This is a good get for the Titans. He is an upgrade to what they currently have on the roster.
From Brian Galliford at Buffalo Rumblings:
Solid player. Good against the run. Capable of playing a dime linebacker role on obvious passing downs up in the box. Not the most fluid athlete, and he never held down a full-time starting job with the Bills (despite being a nominal starter last year, he only played about three-fifths of defensive snaps). He has a nose for the football and is a pretty good playmaker. Not sure how he'll pan out as a full-time starter, but he enjoyed a few good seasons in Buffalo.
UPDATE from Wyatt:
Da'Norris Searcy graded out very well in 2014 for #Bills, per @pff. Played in 666 snaps and had a plus-8.6 overall grade. #Titans

Reported contract numbers:
The expected numbers for Da'Norris Searcy, who appears headed to the #Titans: 4 years, $24M with $10.5M guaranteed. Still finalizing.
