Falcons release Harry Douglas; Should the Titans take a look?

The Tennessee Titans need some help at the wide receiver position. Is former Atlanta Falcon Harry Douglas the right man for the job?

Yesterday we talked about Randall Cobb hitting the open market and if he would be a fit for the Titans.  Today we take a look at Harry Douglas who was released by the Atlanta Falcons earlier today.  Again, the Titans are pretty desperate for help at the wide receiver position, so pretty much any guy who has caught more than 50 balls in a season would be an upgrade, but we need to look at how they would fit with the team.

Douglas had a really good year in 2013 when Julio Jones missed most of the season.  He was the #2 option for Matt Ryan that year behind Roddy White, and Douglas finished the year with 85 catches for 1,067 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He has always been a safe bet for a fantasy football pick-up when either White or Julio were going to miss a game.

He would be a better fit for the Titans than Cobb for 2 reasons:

1. He is going to be cheaper than Cobb, and with good reason.  Douglas has been solid, but his numbers aren't anywhere close to Cobb's.

2. I picture Douglas as a similar receiver to Nate Washington who is unlikely to be back with the Titans in 2014, while Cobb is more similar to Kendall Wright.

Now of course the price would have to be right, but that is the case with any guy out there.  Douglas could be a guy that comes in at a value and really upgrades this offense.
