Do the Titans hold the keys to the 2015 draft?

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

In some encouraging news, Titans No.1 corner Jason McCourty seems prepared to make his case for the team to bring his twin brother, Patriots safety Devin McCourty, to town. Now, I doubt McCourty even gets to the open market, as he is a strong candidate for the tag should the Patriots not come to terms with the stud safety on a long-term pact. It would certainly upgrade the roster though...

The Titans took some heat, from me as well (admittedly), when they released Shaun Phillips in mid season, when the team needed linebackers desperately. The Colts quickly pounced on him, but they too have soured on him. The former Broncos and Chargers standout LB/DE is now out of work again.

A quick look at the top 10 of this coming draft makes it obvious that the decisions of the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars will shape the entire first round, especially where the QB position is concerned. With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers almost assured to take one of the top two QB's, the real mystery starts in Nashville. Should the Titans abstain from a QB, they may get some interesting trade offers to consider. I'd like them to take Williams with that pick, as a blockbuster trade deal is unlikely, but you never know...
