Tennessee Titans 2015 Free Agents

Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports

We are just a few weeks away from the opening of the NFL free agency period. Teams have until March 2nd at 4 PM eastern to give players the franchise or transition tag. The "legal tampering period" begins on March 7th with free agency officially opening at 4 PM eastern on March 10th. The Titans can negotiate with their free agents at any time.

Here is the list of Titans players who will hit the open market if a deal is not worked out before the 10th of March:

Jackie Battle

Beau Brinkley (restricted)

Kaelin Burnett

Chase Coffman

Kris Durham (restricted)

Quentin Groves

Derek Hagan

Brandon Harris

Brett Kern

Karl Klug

Jake Locker

Colin McCarthy

Derrick Morgan

Matthew Mulligan

Eric Olsen

Jordan Palmer

Michael Roos

Chris Spencer

Byron Stingily

Ryan Succop

Will Svitek

Leon Washington

Nate Washington

George Wilson

A lot of those guys were only on the roster because of the injuries the Titans suffered at tight end, offensive line and quarterback. You can assume that guys like Coffman, Mulligan, Palmer, Olsen, and Svitek will be allowed to go on their merry way.

There are, however, some pretty important names on that list. I hope they make a push to re-sign Roos, but they would want him to move to right tackle.  He might not have any interest in doing that.

Morgan ended up playing really well at outside linebacker, but does he want to play defensive end in a 4-3?  That could complicate negotiations.

What about Karl Klug?  We all love him, but his playing time doesn't lead me to believe that the coaching staff feels the same way.  Klug can be effective in the right role.  That might not be with the Titans.  He might be looking to move on.

Given this list, who are the 5 guys that the Titans absolutely need to bring back?  Sound off in the comments.
