Titans have a 94% chance at a top 5 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com posted an article today breaking down the chances of all of the bad teams getting the #1 overall pick and at top-5 pick. The Titans did very well(?) in both categories. They have a 47.4% chance of getting the #1 pick and a 94.4%(!!) chance of having a top-5 pick according to ESPN's FPI (explained here).

Here were the comments on the Titans:

After hosting the Jaguars this Sunday, the Titans will finish with four games against opponents that currently have winning records. In all likelihood, interim coach Mike Mularkey will deliver a top draft pick to his permanent successor. If it's No. 1, it'll be for the first time for this franchise since it was known as the Oilers in 1978.

It is nice of Mularkey to do that for whoever gets the job next! But for real, Mularkey has done a nice job as the interim coach. The most important part of his job is developing Marcus Mariota and the most important part of that job is keeping him healthy. Check and check.  Thanks, Mike!
