Derrick Morgan and Dexter McCluster out for the year

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Derrick Morgan will have shoulder surgery and miss the rest of the year.  The defense has really struggled with Morgan out of the lineup.  This is the best decision though because it gets Morgan on the road to recovery for 2016 sooner.

Mularkey also announced at his press conference today that Dexter McCluster broke his wrist in yesterday's loss to the Jets.  He will have surgery and be out for the rest of the year.  This ends another disappointing season for McCluster who has never developed into the difference maker they hoped he would be when they signed him.

McCluster has one year left on the 3-year $9 million contract the Titans gave him before the 2014 season.  He is owed $2.275 million next year and has a $375,000 roster bonus.  The Titans are not going to be hurting for money against the salary cap next season, but I still find it hard to see them keeping him around for another year.  He hasn't done anything to justify them paying him that money.
