2016 NFL Mock Draft: Joey Bosa falls to the Titans at 3

Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

Because of the stupid Chargers, the Titans moved down a spot in the draft even after losing to the Jaguars last Thursday night.  The Titans have a lot of holes they need to fill (#Breaking).  They need to be in a position where they can trade their first pick, wherever it ends up being, for a bushel of picks.

That might be tough this year because if you look at the current top 10, Cleveland, San Diego, Tennessee, Baltimore, Detroit, San Francisco, Dallas, Miami, Oakland and Jacksonville, only 2 of those teams- Cleveland and San Francisco- will be looking to draft a quarterback.  St. Louis is 11, so if the Titans do end up at 3, their best hope would be that the 49ers are spooked that the Rams are going to try to move up.  The Titans could then move from 3 to 6 and probably pick up an extra 1 and 2.

So anyway, all of that because Dan Kadar has put out a new mock draft today and has the Titans taking Joey Bosa with the 3rd pick.  Here are Kadar's comments on the pick:

With quarterback Marcus Mariota and left tackle Taylor Lewan, the Titans have some good, young building blocks on offense. The defense needs an upgrade, and Bosa is the best player in the draft. Earlier this week he all but announced he's going pro after the season. He should be the top player on many draft boards.

It seems crazy for the Titans to take a defensive player with all of the needs they have on offense, but if you have seen Bosa play you understand it. He is a guy that can get after the quarterback. You can never have enough of those guys, and it lessens the need for a corner. It is almost like a 2-1. A front seven that included Jurrell Casey, Bosa, Brian Orakpo, Derrick Morgan and Avery Williamson would be really fun to watch.
