Tennessee Titans: 1 on 1 Matchups

Titans head coach Ken WHisenhunt continues to refuse blame for any of the teams failings. It's the players fault and a lack of execution. Again.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

During the Tennessee Titans press conference after their loss to the Houston Texans, head coach Ken Whisenhunt informed the public that the offensive line failed to "win 1 on 1 matchups".

I have a couple things to say about this.

1) Leaving an incompetent offensive line in 1 on 1 situations against J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus with a back up quarterback that has a propensity to hold on to the ball too long is coaching malpractice.  Period.

2) I have never heard a coach throw his team and players under the bus more than Ken Whisenhunt.  I would be sick in my stomach to continue to play for the man.  Nothing is ever his fault.  He is the exact opposite of a leader.

3) Here's a list of 1 on 1 matchups that Ken Whisenhunt has lost in his tenure as Titans head coach:

Jason Garrett, Marvin Lewis, Chuck Pagano, Mike Pettine, Gus Bradley, Jay Gruden, Bill O'Brien, John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin, Chip Kelly, Tom Coughlin, Todd Bowles, Rex Ryan, Dan Campbell, and Mike Smith.

That's right Ken.  You've lost to all of these head coaches and a few of them twice in just a season and a half as Titans head coach and offensive coordinator.  They've out coached you and out schemed you.  Their players played harder and with more discipline.  That's on you by the way. They had their teams more prepared.  They had a better game plan.  They managed their situations better.

Next week you are up against Sean Payton.
