Let's start with the positive. The Titans defense has gotten a lot better. They gave up some plays today, mainly because they still have Coty Sensabaugh playing cornerback, but they were put in bad spots all day and held up really well. Dick LeBeau was a great hire. Maybe he should be the head coach.
That is where the positives end. This might be the worst offense I have ever seen. That Texans defense has been getting torched all year. The Dolphins put 41 on them in the first half last week. 41! In the first half! The Titans couldn't manage a touchdown. They really didn't even get close.
The offense line is an absolute joke....despite the vast resources that have been invested in that unit. Zach Mettenberger held on to the ball too long when they did hold up, but that was primarily because there was no one open down the field. The Titans don't have a single receiver that can win against man to man coverage.
I know that they aren't going to fire Ken Whisenhunt before the season is over, and probably not after, but there is no reason to let him keep coaching this team. He is supposed to be an offensive guru, and he can't figure out how to get his team to move the ball. He is in charge of the offense and the buck stops with him. It is time to move on. It's that simple.
