Rex Ryan on Marcus Mariota: He won't have his way with us

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Rex Ryan loves to run his mouth.  He does it every time his team plays the Patriots, and he usually ends up with his tail tucked between his legs.  He doesn't seem very worried about facing rookie sensation Marcus Mariota (via Jim Wyatt's article on Titans Online):

I don’t think the kid is going to have his way with us,’’ Ryan said. "I don’t think that is going to happen.

This is a tough match-up for the entire team, but I really feel like Mariota can have his way with the Bills defense if, and this is a big "IF", the Titans offensive line can give him some time. It is going to be tough for the running backs to get going in this game, so Marcus is going to have to make some plays if the Titans are going to win.

Now to be fair to Rex, he did have praise for Super Mario as well:

Obviously he’s a real talent, a dual-threat who can run and obviously pass it,’’ Ryan said of Mariota. "He’s got a big arm, you know, a big, strong arm. Seems to have a lot of poise too, so obviously there’s a reason he was taken where he was taken....The young man looks impressive.

This is going to be a great test for Mariota.
