Ken Whisenhunt Press Conference Recap

See what coach had to say about yesterday's game.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

That was a rough one yesterday. The Titans lost yet another close game and are 1-3. Though no one can argue that this team is much improved, the questions will only get tougher for Ken Whisenhunt with each loss. A compilation of noteworthy tweets from his press conference this afternoon below:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Whiz still looking to get more information on injuries. More will come out about this injury soon. The Titans have already been struggling against the run, and are thin at inside linebacker. He was replaced by Steven Johnson yesterday. We will know more about Williamson soon.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Whiz said both Wesley Woodyard and Zach Brown played about evenly. A lot was made about Zach Brown being "benched" yesterday. He played, and will continue to play, but no matter who is playing inside linebacker this year, it will be a weakness.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Whiz said Justin Hunter is supposed to take two players on the route with him.</p>&mdash; Terry McCormick (@terrymc13) <a href="https://twitter.com/terrymc13/status/653670474103324676">October 12, 2015</a></blockquote>

Several people on Twitter today have mentioned that Justin Hunter ran the wrong route on the final interception, which was why there were 3 defenders around Kendall Wright. Whisenhunt also mentioned that it was a bad call on his part.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Whiz says there is no problem with Kendall Wright who voiced disappointment in roll after loss.  Said it was an emotional time</p>&mdash; Cory Curtis (@CoryCurtis2) <a href="https://twitter.com/CoryCurtis2/status/653671316885782528">October 12, 2015</a></blockquote>

Wright probably was simply frustrated after yet another emotional loss. However, it has been clear for a while that he is not happy. As coach mentioned, winning cures all. We can only hope that, that comes soon.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Titans?src=hash">#Titans</a> will work through the kickoff return job this week, Whiz said. Sounds like they could consider a change from Sankey</p>&mdash; Terry McCormick (@terrymc13) <a href="https://twitter.com/terrymc13/status/653672639769260032">October 12, 2015</a></blockquote>

Sankey was atrocious on kick returns yesterday. I would not be surprised if he lost the job. Antonio Andrews is an option.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Whisenhunt said he felt Sensabaugh played the deep ball to Hogan well. The Bills just made a good play, he said</p>&mdash; Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) <a href="https://twitter.com/jwyattsports/status/653673056607563776">October 12, 2015</a></blockquote>

This should be a surprise to no one. Sensabaugh struggles mightily when it comes to tracking the deep ball. The same thing happened in the Browns game.

There were no real bombshells in today's press conference. Whisenhunt took some responsibility for some of the questionable calls yesterday. All the team can do is keep working to get that first win, to get out of this rut. Until then, things will continue to be rough.
