What looked to be a promising game for Tennessee turned ugly once again. The Titans held a ten point lead in the second half before letting Buffalo get back into the game. After holding Tyrod Taylor to virtually nothing all day, he got loose on the Titans defense.
Tyrod's legs won the game for the Bills. A third and 25 conversion by Taylor would prove to be one of the biggest plays of the game. Tyrod was able to hit Chris Hogan down the sideline for a big gain, setting up an easy touchdown toss to take the lead at 14-13.
Mariota and the Titans got the ball back with 1:51 to go, but Marcus immediately threw a deep interception that was intended for Kendall Wright. The throw was Mariota's worst decision of the day by far. He was pressured and seemed to throw it up for grabs. It was a brutal end to an ugly offensive day.
Mariota finished 21-32 for 187 yards. He added 47 yards on five carries. The Titans were unable to run the ball consistently all day. Mariota led the team and McCluster and Sankey followed with 20 yards each.
In the end, Taylor's 76 rushing yards were the difference. The Titans defense couldn't get off the field when they needed to, letting Tyrod bring the Bills back to a win.
This takes Tennessee to 1-3. Their record isn't indicative of their play, but they must figure out how to finish games. The Titans could very easily be 3-1 right now if not for two late collapses. They'll take on the 1-3 Dolphins next weekend.
