Zach Brown Injury Update: Titans LB Likely Lost for Season

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Jim Wyatt had reported earlier that Zach Brown had a pectoral injury that could make him miss the rest of the season.  Ken Whisenhunt has confirmed that news at this afternoon's press conference.  No final determination has been made at this point, but it sounds like Brown will go to injured reserve.

Brown was pretty much the only player that Ken Whisenhunt publicly called out based on his play last season.  Whiz thought that Brown didn't show good effort at times last season, but Brown had apparently put all of that behind him.  Brown played well in the preseason and was no doubt one of the starting inside linebackers.

Zaviar Gooden replaced Brown in the lineup on Sunday.  It should be his spot for now.  It will be interesting to see if Avery Williamson can push him.  There were some people predicting Gooden would be cut at the end of camp.  You can't feel good about running that guy out there every week.

Whisenhunt, of course, said this afternoon that the team will evaluate all of the options- internally and externally.
