The Tennessee Titans may have a great prospect of the future in Zach Mettenberger, but right now they are giving the nod to Charlie Whitehurst.
Tennessee will start QB Charlie Whitehurst in place of the injured Jake Locker today at Indianapolis.

Barring a surprising improvement, #Titans QB Jake Locker (wrist) won’t play today vs. Colts?src=hash">#Colts, I’m told. Plan is to see Charlie Whitehurst

Jake Locker is out for the game today against the Colts with a wrist injury, and will continue his streak of injuries prohibiting him from completing a season. Short term, this is an issue that won't have a huge impact based on the mediocre play of Locker over the past few weeks.
Expect the Titans to put more on the backs of the running backs, in the absence of a constant presence at quarterback. Hopefully this will allow Bishop Sankey to get more carries and prove why the Titans drafted him in the second round this year. The Titans top two running backs (Shonn Greene and Bishop Sankey) are currently averaging 4.9 YPC, and look ready for more responsibility heading into the meat of the season.
The quarterback issue is back to being a top concern for the Titans, and if Locker sustains another injury later in the season, it will be interesting to see if Tennessee look to Zach Mettenberger.
