Titans-Chiefs Series History By The Numbers

A look at the series history between the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

Here is how the Titans and Chiefs stack up against each other historically (a lot of these stats are from the Oilers days):

-The Chiefs lead the overall series 29-20

-The two teams have met in the postseason twice.  The Chiefs won both meetings.

-The Titans are 6-8 all-time at Arrowhead

-The Chiefs beat the Titans 26-17 at LP Field last year.

-Ken Whisenhunt is 0-1 against the Chiefs in his career.

-Andy Reid is 1-4 against the Titans in his career.  Remember how Jeff Fisher owned the NFC?  Reid's 4 losses to the Titans were during his time with the Eagles.

I said this yesterday, but this is a really big game for the Titans.  It is exactly the type of game that the Titans need to win if they are going to prove to everyone that they are ready to compete for a playoff spot this year.

It is also important for the Ken Whisenhunt era to start off with a win.  Sure it is just one win, and it doesn't ruin anything if the Titans don't win, but it will make for a week of everyone in the building and in the fanbase feeling really good about the hire and the season if they win.

It is a new era in Titans' football.  I can't wait for it to kickoff!
