Per Jim Wyatt, the Tennessee Titans today announced the release of WR Michael Preston, who was thought tp have locked down the 4th WR spot. There is obviously more to this than immediatley meets the eye, but as of right now the Titans WR corps is a little bit thinner.
Perhaps the Titans are looking to add someone and needed the roster space, but the move doesnt make a ton of sense at this point. Preston came along last season and had some memorable grabs, seeming like a solid No. 4. The Arizona game stands out, where Preston had 2 TDs.
I would suspect that the FO might target a guy like Robert Meachem, or even former Titan WR Damian Williams, who was just released by Miami. Stephen Hill is also another name on the WR waiver wire.
Where the Titans go from here is yet to be seen, but I have no doubt we will know more in the next 48 hours.
