Titans take Bishop Sankey at 54

The Titans shore up the running back corps.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee Titans Needs:

ILB, RB, OLB, QB, CB

Picks so far:

11th overall – Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan.

With the 54th pick the Titans select: Bishop Sankey, RB, Washington.

The Titans make history by drafting the first running back in the draft at the latest spot ever. The Titans had a big need at RB after the Exodus of Chris Johnson, so it's not a huge surprise to see Sankey go here. The Titans needed backup to join Greene and McCluster in the backfield, they got it here. Sankey is an instinctive runner, with the shiftiness and determination to move the chains.

"He’s a great combination of make-you-miss and north-south production...He’s tough, but he can make you miss in the open field. Really good balance, quickness and instincts."

- Mike Mayock

The Titans wisely opted to trade back from 42 to 54 with the Philadelphia Eagles to recoup an extra 4th rounder after losing their 2014 3rd last year in the Justin Hunter trade-up. After the Titans added Tackle Taylor Lewan at 11 in the first round, who was admittedly great value, Webster got the job done here.
