Zach Mettenberger agrees to terms with the Titans

The Titans have signed their first draft pick, sixth-rounder Zach Mettenberger.

So there you have it.  Zach Mettneberger is under contract.  As Jim Wyatt said above, it is a 4-year deal that includes a signing bonus of $125, 116.  I love how quickly these signings happen now days with the rookie pay scale.

Mettenberger was considered by some, including NFL Films guru Greg Cosell, as the third best quarterback prospect in this draft.  He fell on draft day because of his off the field issues, including a diluted urine sample at the combine, and some medical red flags.

If he does develop like the Titans hope that he can, they will have a heck of a bargain at QB for at least a couple of years.

It was especially important for Mettenberger to go ahead and get the contract out of the way.  Now he is free to focus on getting familiar with the playbook.

I will have more on Metenberger and his fit with the Titans in less than an hour.
