Once again, these players are not under contract. They have only been invited to rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The Titans' roster is currently filled at the maximum occupancy of 90. If the Titans wanted to sign one of these players, they would have to free up a roster spot first. More likely than not the Titans are just looking for extra bodies to fill practice repetitions.
Here is more information on the rookies that are trying out:
QB Drew Allen- trasnferred from Oklahoma to Syracuse for his senior year where he started just three games.
WR Julian Horton- had 12 catches and 1 TD as a senior at Arkansas
RB Waymon James- had 242 yards and 4 touchdowns at TCU last year
S A.J. Highsmith- had 1 interception in 2013
WR Telef Lundevall- had 4 touchdowns for Brown in 2013
CB Winston Wright- hails from North Dakota State- had 4 tackles and 1 pick last year
CB Zachary McMillan- was a 2nd team All-American Athletic Conference cornerback- 5 picks as a senior
CB Jerry Gates- nicknamed BooBoo (most interesting thing about him)
FB Kye Staley- 3 time 2nd team All-Big 12 at Oklahoma St
OT Viondy Merisma- 6-4 285 pound tackle from American International
DE Kristopher Redding- 6-4 275 pounds from Wake Forest
