Per Schefter, Wimbley redoes deal: three years, $9 M. #Titans
— Paul Kuharsky (@PaulKuharskyNFL) April 7, 2014
Tennessee Titans OLB/DE Kam Wimbley has restructured his bloated deal to a reasonable 3 years, 9 million, which the team and fans should be thrilled with. They get a guy who has experience and a skillset that fit new DC, Ray Horton's scheme, and Wimbley gets the security of not being jettisoned from the team.
Wimbley should be an excellent fit this year, and the new deal more accurately reflects what he brings to the table as a pass rushing specialist. With success in prior stints with the Raiders and Browns as an OLB, there is a lot to be excited about as far as his versatility, and he provides yet another cog in a new-look defensive front that should be bringing extra heat on opposing quarterbacks in 2014 and beyond.
