Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State

Here is coach's analysis of the pick:

We were hoping that one of the top corners would fall to us, but neither did. We dont believe in Fuller really being able to come in and be that top tier corner we need to match with Dee Milliner. We will be able to hopefully pick up a corner that we can develop in the second or third round. Pass rusher is always tempting and with Dee Ford sitting there, it was a hard not to take him.

However, we really need to help out our "franchise QB" and not have another Mark Sanchez failure in New York. We did address wide reciever with Decker, but can we really trust him to be that number 1? That is where Cooks can come in and hopefully be a DeSean Jackson type for this team. His speed alone will be able to bring the top off the defense. His size is a little worrisome, only being 5 foot 11, but a trio of Cooks, Decker, and Curley is a nice combination. Would have liked for the big TE out of NC to fall down, but that was a pipe dream. With CJ hopefully signing soon, we can have an offense that can put up points and take some pressure off our defense.
