Former Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals running back, Rashard Mendenhall, announced his decision to hang up his cleats, all but six years into an NFL career. We've seen stranger things, but this ranks high on the list. I suppose if your heart isn't in the game anymore...

The intense NFL cornerback market is heating up at this point, and D-line isn't far behind. The Vikings re-upped Everson Griffen to a huge contract.

To make the cornerback conundrum more interesting, Antonio Cromartie of the Jets was shown his walking papers as well, in the wake of a season where his play fell of the proverbial cliff. There will be a ton of information going back and forth over the next few days leading up to the start of Free Agency, and I think it would be wise to take into account that the public will only get a limited view of that. There are more conversations going on behind closed doors than not, even in today's highly visible professional sports world.
