The Titans are going to be interested in just about any linebacker who has experience playing in a 3-4 defense when free agency opens next week. Two guys who are really good players, Brian Orakpo and Jason Worilds, would have been at the top of the list.
Now they will not be on the list at all because they have been tagged by their respective teams. Brian Orakpo received the franchise tag from the Washington Redskins and the Pittsburgh Steelers gave Jason Worilds the transition tag.
Now the transition tag does have a component where another team could make an offer to Worilds and the Steelers would have the right to match. The Titans could do that, but my guess is they won't.
There will still be some intriguing options on the market for the Titans, but they options were trimmed today. That means that the guys they are going to go after are going to cost a little bit more money. That's basic supply and demand, brother.
