For so long, Rob Bironas was the model of consistency. He ranks 4th all time in terms of accuracy for place kickers, and 1st in my heart for Titans' kickers. The era of Bironas ended yesterday and marks the beginning of a new era. Maybe the Reign of Bonani, maybe not. Maybe we sign a FA kicker, maybe we draft one. But I know one thing for sure, the new kicker will have a long way to go to be anywhere close to what Bironas once was. SHOOTAZ
On a happy note, ole boy Marc Mariani, MegaMan himself, has signed a one year contract. I am guessing that either he or Leon will make the team out of camp and the other will be cut.
Replacing Bironas will be tough to do. If they are looking at doing so in the draft, Fera, the top Kicker available, doesn't have the strongest leg and because of that, doesn't do kickoff duties, which is something we need out of our place kicker. (GO STEAL DUSTIN HOPKINS)
The NFL is deciding whether or not to expand the playoffs and add two more teams.
PK says if the Titans draft a QB later, there would not be many snaps to go around for him. Well, yeah.
April 7th may be the deadline for some sort of action on CJ. He gone tho.
Cutting Bironas showed that the Titans value, well, value. If you're not producing what your contract says you should be, you'll be out the door. I wouldn't be surprised if Stevens, Wimbley, and CJ were next.
