Between The Posts: Head Scratcher

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans signed Charlie Whitehurst to the roster today...for what reason I don't really know. He can't really compare to the quality the team had in Fitzpatrick, and the team saved basically nothing since he signed a deal worth up th 8 million over two years anyway...sigh. Thus is the life of a Titans' fan I suppose.

The Titans were quiet the rest of the day, with the biggest news being a visit from Jason Hatcher (who is signing with the Redkins), and another for Lamar Woodley (who signed with Oakland).

It is too early to tell with the new staff and the new direction of the franchise, FA being only a few days old, but things have not looked favorable thus far. Most of the presumed targets went other directions quickly. Take it as simply the opinions of a common Titans fan, but the team has a lot of work to do to improve heading into Whisenhunt's first season. Signing Whitehurst is a head-scratching start. In the end of the day 2014 will be all about Locker, so we'll see how it plays out in the end. Signing a guy like Spikes would certainly go a long way in lifting spirits, because this is what bombing Free Agency looks like ladies and gents.

As may be, the rest of you fine folks might disagree with me, as you are welcome to. This is your nightly open thread after all...
