The Titans have agreed to terms with Steelers DL Al Woods for real this time. There were reports that both parties came to terms earlier in the day but those were proven to be erroneous in nature until now
The
#Titans have agreed to terms with Steelers defensive lineman Al Woods
It's a two-year, $5 million deal for defensive lineman Al Woods and the
#Titans
Woods is a big body nose tackle (6'4 307) who served his apprenticeship under the longtime Steelers great Casey Hampton and played on the outside as well. The Steelers connection with current Titans DC Ray Horton is present as well. It is assumed that Woods would play nose tackle in Horton's yet to be defined scheme.
The contract is a steal at the price that he signed for. Steelers fans really wanted Woods back but he could've been looking for a bigger role other than being a part time player. The Titans certainly could offer such a role.
Update:
Woods had two prior stops in connection to Ruston Webster as well. He previously played for New Orleans, Tampa, and Seattle.
