NFL Free Agency 2014: Titans estimated $12 million under salary cap

New, comments

How much money will the Titans have to make the team better in free agency?

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com has put out his list of where NFL teams stand against the projected salary cap. He has the Tennessee Titans currently $12 million under the cap. The number will not be official until just before the league year begins on March 11th, and there are obviously a lot of contract situations that can change between now and then to change the number.

That $12 million number puts the Titans 20th in the league as far as cap space available is concerned.

Now we don't have to go over here again the people that could be cut to free up space for the Titans, but cutting guys like Chris Johnson, David Stewart, Kamerion Wimbley and maybe even Craig Stevens could give the Titans even more wiggle room to sign guys in free agency.

What this says to me is that they have plenty of room to re-sign Alterraun Verner. Make it happen, Ruston!
