For those of you who haven't tuned in to the Winter Olympics yet, here are some highlights of what you missed so far. Best quote of that article?

This winter Olympics and upcoming World Cup have raised serious questions about the importance of tourist safety as well as the appropriate and not-appropriate conditions presented by host nations of such events. It got me thinking, would you take your kids with you to Sochi? To Rio for the World Cup?
I am a pretty well-traveled guy, but I find it hard to understand why some of these massive sporting events are held in such contentious and socially fragile locales. My answer? Not a chance. Even seasoned travelers should think twice about hopping on a flight to Sochi, Rio, etc with their families. Hosting these events is an honor and a privilege, but they aren't being treated like one.
