TMZ Sports first reported that Tennessee Titans defensive tackle, Sammie Lee Hill, has been named in a sexual assault investigation in Atlanta. Here are the details from their report:
A woman went to police in Houston claiming Hill sexually assaulted her in a hotel room in Atlanta. Houston PD tells us they took a "courtesy report" in which the woman named 28-year-old Hill as the suspect. Houston Police says the case was then sent to the Atlanta PD which has taken over the investigation. We're told ... the woman claims to have marks and bruises on her neck which she claims she suffered during the alleged sexual assault.
The Tennessean got this quote from the Atlanta PD:
"The Atlanta Police Dept. has been contacted by a female who advised she was sexually assaulted by Sammie Hill, who is a NFL player," the police department said in a release Monday. "We are working with the female to obtain information about this incident. At this time, the report is not available."
Hill signed a 3-year $11.4 million dollar contract before the 2013 season.
If anything comes of this, the Titans would be stupid to not just go ahead and cut bait. They won't, however, because they are stupid and that is not how the NFL works. If charges are filed, he will be suspended until things are worked out, or for 6 games based on the new domestic abuse charges, or based on whatever the NFL wants to do that day.
