Zach Mettenberger Thinks He Has Shown the Titans Enough

Do you?

Zach Mettenberger was asked after practice today if he has shown the Titans enough to count on him going forward.  Here was his response (via Kuharsky):

"Yeah, I believe I've shown them enough, I just hope I've shown y'all enough to write good columns from here to next season," Mettenberger told the Nashville media. "But I'm confident in my abilities and what I've put on the field and put on tape. I think I've showed the owner, I think I've showed Ruston [Webster] the GM, and the staff that I can play at a high level and that I am going to continue to get better."

I think Mett has shown that he has the tools to be a good NFL quarterback- meaning the type of guy that can win with the right people around him. There is nothing wrong with that, and it is something that a lot of franchises would kill to have. From that standpoint, I would be good with them heading into 2015 with him as the starter.

HOWEVER, if they have the first pick, and they believe that Marcus Mariota is a special, elite talent, then they better go ahead and draft him. An elite quarterback makes your franchise relevant year in and year out for a decade. The Titans haven't really been relevant in a decade, so that is awfully tempting.

Like I said, the good quarterback is OK as long as you have the talent around him, but that can be hard to sustain for a long period of time.

So those are my thoughts. If the Titans have the first pick, do you think they should take Mariota, or should they ride with the Mett Show?
