For those that don't think that Mettenberger is an option for the future, you may have another answer (I don't know if you will like it though).
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Report: Texans, Titans likely among teams which will pursue Brian Hoyer if he gets to free agency <a href="http://t.co/ukqMdglUHy">http://t.co/ukqMdglUHy</a></p>— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) <a href="https://twitter.com/ProFootballTalk/status/534015987801415680">November 16, 2014</a></blockquote>

It looks like there is at least some interest. Some of this looks like just writers assuming that the Titans will need a QB and that they will look that way. While it is mostly speculation, it does make sense:
-The Titans are one of a few teams that has seen Hoyer up close
-They want a QB that can win games without elite talent (something Tennessee and Cleveland have in common).
-They both (ideally) use an offense that should exploit teams up the middle with small receivers and tight ends, and leave the rest to a RBBC backfield.
But, if that isn't your cup of tea...there is always this...
