Ruston Webster, Titans scouts attending Georgia vs. Auburn

Tennessee Titans general manager Ruston Webster is heading to Auburn, Alabama today to watch the Georgia Bulldogs take on the Auburn Tigers.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Ruston Webster said yesterday on the Midday 180 that he will be attending the Georgia vs. Auburn game today. (Listen to the full interview here.  There is a good tidbit about the decision to take Avery Williamson and wait on Zach Mettenberger)  There are a lot of good prospects on both teams in that game.  Todd Gurley will be the best player on the field in that one, but I don't see any scenario where the Titans end up drafting him.  He will be picked in the first round, possibly the top 10, and the Titans cannot afford to use that pick on a running back.  They have too many other needs.  Plus they drafted Bishop Sankey in the second round of the 2014 draft.

Georgia has a couple of good linebackers, Leonard Floyd and Ramik Wilson, that Webster will be watching closely.  The Titans are should be heavy on defense in the first couple of rounds in the 2015 draft.  They need a lot of help on that side of the ball, and haven't taken a defensive player in the first round since Derrick Morgan back in 2010.

There will also be a lot of eyes on Auburn QB Nick Marshall.  He has improved as a passer this year, but he is not going to play quarterback in the NFL.  He would be an interesting weapon in the right offense.  I don't think that offense is in Tennessee, but he will be an interesting guy when the draft rolls around.
