NFL Draft Order: Titans currently hold the 5th pick

New, comments

Mr. Pass Rusher, come on down.

Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports

I long for the day where I run this site and I don't start looking at the draft order until the middle of January or later.  I used to be pretty confident that would happen one day.  Now I am not so sure.

The key to what the Titans do with their inevitable high pick is Zach Mettenberger.  If he plays well down the stretch they will have the luxury of picking a pass rusher here, and this draft is said to be stacked with impact players that can get after the quarterback.

If he doesn't, you start to look at the teams ahead of you and speculate.  The Raiders and Jaguars aren't taking a quarterback, but the other two in front of the Titans currently, Jets and Buccaneers, very well could.  Who would the Titans be looking at if they get the third QB in this class?  I am not sure I like that, and that is why we should all really be rooting for Mett.

Here is the draft order (h/t Bucs Nation):

Sunday night football hasn't been incorporated into these standings, yet.
