Titans Taylor Lewan getting ready for his biggest test.

What is Lewan facing?

Andy Marlin-USA TODAY Sports

Rookie offensive tackle Taylor Lewan has probably had one of the most impressive campaigns by a rookie this season. Despite the fact that he has only played two full games, he is already ranked as a top-10 offensive tackle (on either side of the line). However, it doesn't get much tougher than the Houston Texans, so what is he in for?

Jadeveon Clowney is really the lesser of two evils. Clowney has a banged up knee and isnt' as quick or as strong as Watt. I expect Lewan to play fairly well against him, despite a tougher outing in college.

Watt on the other hand, it impossible to block. If the Titans try to leave Lewan on an island against Watt, then they better have a hot read to get the ball out of Mettenberger's hands quick. I expect the Titans to have Delanie Walker chip Watt whenever possible, and if Watt is on the other side then I expect a line shift. No rookie can handle Watt, and very few All-Pro veterans can compete with him.

All in all I expect the Titans to actually look better on offense now that they don't have a QB that is gunshy (yet) in the pocket. However, if the offensive line can (by some miracle) hold up, and the Titans walk out of there with a win, then this would be great momentum heading into the bye week. If you are in to that sort of thing.
