One day away from a computer and you miss a lot.

Akeem Ayers and the Titans' 7th round pick was traded away to the New England Patriots today for a 6th rounder. Like Jimmy said earlier, it was always expected that he would take the next step, but the proverbial light never came on in Tennessee. Fans and coaches alike were left wanting for more from the 2nd round pick.

Remember when we thought Colin McCarthy, Akeem Ayers, and Zach Brown would have this team set at linebacker for years? That dream was incredibly short lived. Credit to Ruston for getting something out of Ayers. This team is obviously a work in progress, and that building goes beyond a single season. As we've seen in past years, having more ammunition on draft day can make all the difference if you have talented evaluators. Do the Titans have that? Maybe. Maybe not. But the player they use that 6th round pick on might have a better chance to earn more snaps on game day than Akeem Ayers ever did this year.
