Titans open as 5 point underdog at Redskins

Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans travel to the nation's capital on Sunday to take on the Washington Redskins- who are not in a boat that is all that different from the Titans.  Like the Titans, the Redskins have a new head coach this season- Jay Gruden.  Also like the Titans, the Redskins have an oft-injured starting quarterback and spend a lot of time running their back-up quarterback out there (not that there is any comparison between Charlie Whitehurst and Kirk Cousins).

This is a winnable game for the Titans.  I won't say they are better than the Redskins, but they aren't significantly worse.  There was a lot of talk at yesterday's press conference about getting to 4-4 before the bye.  That is a fairly lofty goal for this group, but not one that is unattainable.

They can't get to 4-4 without winning this one.  Make it happen, cap'n!
