Ed Valentine, who runs Big Blue View, emailed me for my thoughts on Dowell Loggains.  Here is what I said to him:

I actually thought Loggains did a decent job this year. He completely re-designed the offense when Jake Locker went down and had some good game plans. Most weeks the problem was the quarterback and not the game plan.

With that being said, he didn't do very well with in-game adjustments. You could tell he had a good plan coming in, but it seemed like he was slow to adjust when the opposing defense threw in a wrinkle.

He is still a really young guy (33) and he has a good reputation around the league. The Bears wanted to interview him a couple of years ago but Mike Munchak blocked it.

The jury is still out on Loggains in my opinion. He had some good games and some bad games (sometimes they happened in the same game).

Is that a fair assessment?
