The candidates have been whittled down for the 'Fins GM job. The Titans VP, Lake Dawson, is among the final three according to sources. Dawson has been in his current role of the past two years, and has been with the Titans for seven. He has proved to be a quality man in that time span, and his move to VP of Player Operations has generated some good results.

It would be a shame to see him leave Tennessee at this point. Most people don't put much thought into the back-rooms of NFL Franchises, where men like Dawson actively help shape a team, hammer out contracts, and generally get the behind-the-scenes work done. Aside being a GM position, one that it much more visible to the public, the job will be heavily scrutinized in the wake of Ireland's mess over in Miami the past few years.

That said, if Dawson does leave for the GM job, I would wish him the best, and I think he would do a great job. So good luck Lake, but not really...
