NFL Mock Draft 2014: Update from SB Nation's Mocking the Draft

Yes, it's the NFL offseason, which means we will be inundated with mock drafts from now until May. Of course, it also means we will continue to post our own mock drafts and take a look at the other projections out there. Yesterday, Dan Kadar from SB Nation's Mocking the Draft updated his first round prediction.

I hate to tell you, but now that the excitement of the new coach and his coaching staff are starting to settle down, the draft talk is all there will be for the majority of the next 5 months. It is going to get tedious at times. Sorry about that. One of these years the Titans will make the playoffs and we will be able to save our review of the year until late January. That will push the draft talk back to February.

The Senior Bowl is going on this week in Mobile. That will alter the way some mock drafts look next week, but it probably won't bring about that big of a shift with so many talented underclassmen entering the draft. There are still quality guys at the Senior Bowl, but you are looking at those guys more in the middle rounds.

With all of that being said, Dan Kadar posted a new mock draft yesterday. He has the Titans going in a familiar direction- OT. This time he has the Titans taking Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan:

The Titans are going to be tied to an offensive tackle throughout much of the draft process. In this instance, the top two in Matthews and Robinson are gone. Lewan may have spent his entire Michigan career on the left side, but he has the functional strength to work on the right. When Michael Roos decides to retire, Lewan could shift over.

It is hard to argue with the pick. It is boring, but it is necessary. I would love to see them be able to add a play-making linebacker with the pick. They will have to decide if a player like Anthony Barr is worth that pick.
