According to several tweets by Jim Wyatt beat writer for the Tennessean, the Titans have hired Ken Whisenhunt as their next head coach.

This is huge news and speaks highly of Titans new owner Tommy Smith to make quick decisions and "sell" the opening to people. I wrote earlier why this should be the most coveted job available, even over the Detroit Lions who have Calvin Johnson and Matt Stafford. Obviously Whisenhunt agreed and gave the Titans the nod.
If Whisenhunt can bring in someone like Ray Horton or Wade Phillips (or even Jim Schwartz or Gregg Williams) in as the new defensive coordinator this team could finally have real coaching talent on both sides of the ball as well as a head coach with some experience.
Here are more details from Wyatt.
