Is Mike Munchak going to help the Titans one more time?

Could Mike Munchak get the job in Detroit?

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The former Titans head coach was expected to be a heavy favorite for the Penn State head coaching job, but after the hiring of Jame Franklin some thought Mike Munchak was out of options. However, Chris Mortensen has heard something else entirely.

While Ken Whisenhunt is odds-on favorite to pick his next team as HC, Mike Munchak "surprised" Lions with strong interview. All Tennessee fans know about Titans North aka the Detroit Lions, and how they love to hire or sign former Tennessee coaches and players. But if Mike Munchak did land the job, then how would that help the Titans.

Well, as the beginning of the tweet said, Whisenhunt is the man to beat for the Detroit job however if the Chargers beat the Broncos today the Lions may not want to wait. If Munchak is hired then Tennessee is guaranteed to have a shot at all three of their top-candidates.

Whisenhunt isn't number one on my list, but he seems to be the only head coaching option on the list with experience with building a talented offense. Also, if he could somehow manage to pull in Ray Horton as the DC that would be a very good pairing for the Titans.
