Tennessee Titans head coaching search: Smitten with Seattle?

Adam Schefter breaking news again.

Steven Bisig-US PRESSWIRE

While most expected Dan Quinn a main focus of this offseason's head coaching search, Adam Schefter took those expectations one step further.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Titans owner Tommy Smith said to be &quot;smitten with Seattle&quot; so much that Seahawks DC Dan Quinn expected to be finalist before he interviews.</p>&mdash; Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/statuses/422039065228103680">January 11, 2014</a></blockquote>

So, it is looking more and more like the Titans will have a three-man contest (with Ken Whisenhunt, Dan Quinn and Mike Zimmer) for the head coaching job. But wait, Schefter has more to say.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>At one least one high-level Titans official has expressed major reservations about whether QB Jake Locker can succeed in the NFL.</p>&mdash; Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/statuses/422039461929574400">January 11, 2014</a></blockquote>

We can all safely assume that this "high-level Titans official" is not Ruston Webster who has been pro-Locker during his tenure, but it could be another popular name. Those close to Lake Dawson will likely have sent Schefter a text or two about him interviewing for the Miami GM job, did something slip out about Locker?

Another possibility is that someone close to Tommy Smith may have said something while Schefter was grabbing the information for the first tweet.

This is all just speculation, and I doubt we will ever know who said it but it is definitely something to keep an eye on.
