Jake Locker injury update; Mike Munchak says any timetable is speculation

New, comments

Mike Munchak spent the majority of his Monday press conference talking about the injury to Jake Locker. Here are the high points of what he had to say.

Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports

Mike Muchak did confirm the earlier good news: Jake Locker did not suffer a dislocated hip.  He did add, however, that any timetable that has been reported, like the one here or here, did not come from the team.  Munchak said that nothing will be established until a second MRI is done.  That will probably take place tomorrow.

The only thing we know for sure at this point is that Locker will not play against the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday.

The best part of the press conference was when Munch said that Locker had already been at the facility today.  He was then asked if Locker was walking under his own power and Munchak said he didn't know.  As the old song goes, "and if you'll buy that I'll throw the golden gate in free."

The Titans will also wait until the results of that MRI are in before deciding what roster move to make.  Rusty Smith is on the practice squad.  He makes the most sense, but Munchak also said that they will workout veteran free agent quarterbacks this week (and that list will not include Vince Young before any of that mess gets started).
