Win the turnover battle
Jake Locker and company have been very good at taking care of the football this season. That will be extremely important today as they face the Jets. Both teams feature stingy defenses. That means this game could very easily turn on one team being given a short field. The Titans are +5 in turnover differential this season. The Jets are -6. I like the Titans chances.
Eliminate big plays by Geno Smith
A lot has been made this week about how much Geno Smith likes to throw the ball down the field. That should give the Titans some time to get to him and make him uncomfortable. One of his favorite targets is SuperHorn's boy Stephen Hill. He is one of the faster receivers in the league. The Titans better have somebody over the top of him all day. Plus, the more times that Geno Smith drops back to pass, the more opportunities the Titans have to make a play. They need to make them sustain drives and not get big chunks.
Get an early lead
This Jets team is not built to come from behind. The Titans have the firepower to get out to an early lead. They should open it up early to get some points on the board. THat forces the Jets into a game plan they are not comfortable with and gives the Titans the ability to control the clock in the second half.
GO TITANS!!
