Time for the Titans to move on from Kenny Britt

New, comments

The Titans went 96 yards with no timeouts today with Kenny Britt on the sideline. He was on the sideline because he had dropped two passes and gotten another penalty.

Spoiler alert, he dropped it.

Let me start by saying that I have been telling people here and on Twitter for a year and a half that it would be stupid for the Titans to cut Kenny Britt. He is still cheap because he is playing under his rookie deal, and a guy like Britt is very likely to finally have a huge year in his contract year, i.e. Haynesworth, Albert. Clearly that isn't going to happen with Britt.

With that being the case, there is no reason to keep him around. He isn't adding anything to the team- in fact he is taking things away- and the proved today that they don't need him. The guy they moved up in the draft to get as his replacement, Justin Hunter, made a game-winning play that you expect from your #1 receiver.

Mike Munchak and Ruston Webster need to step up and do what is best for this team. I understand there will is the fear that he will go somewhere else and finally realize his potential, but at this point it just isn't going to happen here. Keeping him around for the rest of the season isn't going to change that.

It's time to move on. Make it happen!
