Tennessee Titans roster bubble players update

The Titans have a talented roster this year, which means there are going to be some good players they end up cutting loose. Here is a look at how some of the players that are on the bubble performed last night.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

You usually see a player or two blow up in the first preseason game that you weren't expecting.  That didn't really happen last night.  The one guy that is on the roster bubble that really stood out to me was Jackie Battle.  He was running downhill all night, but he is still a long-shot to make this team.

The night was a push for the two guys, Marc Mariani and Darius Reynaud, that are competing for the returner job.  I don't see either of those guys making the roster at their position, so one of them needs to stand out as a returner- neither of them did last night.

Michael Preston had a couple of catches last night for 17 yards.  He also didn't break up a ball in the end zone that was almost picked off.  For Preston it really comes down to how many receivers the Titans decide to keep.  Kenny Britt, Nate Washington, Kendall Wright, Damian Williams and Justin Hunter are locks to make the team.  In case you cannot count, that is 5.  If Mariani makes it as the returner, Preston is probably out unless he shows up in the next couple of weeks.
