NFL Preseason Awards: Titans

Find out which Titans players won my preseason awards.

Hannah Foslien

The Titans weren't at full strength this preseason dealing with injuries to McCarthy, Brown, Ayers, Wright, and others but there were some definite standouts. Here are the award winners with a brief explanation of what they did to win the award.

Best Pass Rusher: Jurrell Casey

The third year player was a force this preseason. Accounting for three QB sacks, and at least one FF Casey is finally playing up to the potential he showed in practice.

Honorable mention: Karl Klug, Keyunta Dawson.

Best offensive weapon: Damian Williams

Williams was consistent and made more than a few "wow" catches. The Titans are officially stacked at WR, and having players like Williams, Hunter and Preston on the Britt is a great problem to have.

Honorable mention: Nate Washington, Michael Preston.

Best Rookie Performance: Chance Warmack vs Cincinnati

The rookie guard was a force and he punished everyone in front of him. In a game where he could have folded under the pressure of playing All-Pro DT Geno Atkins, he held up well.

Honorable mention: Justin Hunter vs Minnesota, Daimion Stafford vs Minnesota

Biggest surprise: Jake Locker

Locker was supposed to look better this year, but to look this much better this quickly is outstanding for Tennessee. Locker seems to be over his jitters, and an improved offensive line is leading to him being much more comfortable and productive. If he keeps clicking like he was preseason the Titans will be better than the .500 team they need to be.

Honorable mention: Rob Turner, Jack Doyle

Biggest letdown: Fernando Velaso

The former standout center is now looking for a new home after a terrible preseason. Velasco seemed to struggle to beat defenders with either power, speed or technique and he was a far cry form the player he was last year.

Honorable mention: Bernard Pollard, Tommie Campbell.
